so greg went gallavanting off to michigan this weekend, leaving us short a player for mah jongg....so dale and mommy and i went to the movies instead - Spider-Man. pretty good - i really like tobey maguire. the movie started off kinda slow, but it picked up. kirsten dunst is a hottie too - loved that gratuitous scene in the rain with her perky little nips busting out of the flimsy shirt she was wearing. *8-)

just finished reading Find Me - the book from Rosie O'Donnell....my one word review - "HUH?" it certainly wasn't what i expected it to be - a memoir. there was a bit of her history in it, but most of the book dwelled on her obsession with a pregnant teen across the country. it was just very strange.
seem to be on a memoir kick lately, tho it hasn't been intentional...the last three books i've read have been autobiographical in nature - Patient by Ben Watt, Lucky Man by Michael J. Fox and then Rosie's book....Lucky Man was certainly the best of the bunch...i also got Drew Barrymore's autobiography from the library, but i'm not sure that i'll read that one next or not...

off to get reorientated at IYG, so that i can resume being a volunteer...think it'll do me good to get involved again - i just have to keep in mind that this isn't the same IYG as the one i volunteered for a few years back.
in other news, pooky and i are shooting for June 1 as our moving date - that is, i'm moving back to mom's and he's moving into my apartment. think it'll work out well for both of us - i'll give him a good deal on the air conditioners and such and he won't have to worry about buying some and installing them and all that crap...i've got to figure out how it is i'm going to arrange things - will i be able to fit it all in here at mom's? i'll be taking over pooky's old room, aka the garage...not sure if i wanna try cramming it all in or just saying fuck it and going ahead with a storage unit. *shrug* got less than a month to figure it out tho!

weird weekend. think i must've had a seizure thursday, i was just really out of it all day thursday and friday, and i had a bitch of a headache. *shrug* why can't shit like this happen when i'm AT the freakin' doctor's office?
i think the new work schedule will work out well, once my body gets acclimated to it. it's nice to actually have some time to just veg out on weekdays - i'm not staring at the clocking, thinking "okay, if i go to sleep RIGHT NOW, i can get 7 hours and 42 minutes of sleep" and so on...all last week i woke up before my alarm went off. i just wish i could catch a bus up here or something - i really should not be driving. kim said i could catch a ride with her, but she stays till 4:30, sometimes later and i wouldn't want to be a burden on her anyways.
urgh, back to work....

mom & i are gonna have dinner from hardee's tonight...they're donating part of all sales tonight to a little girl named meghann...she needs money for brain surgery - a hemispherectomy to remove half of her brain to control her seizures.
Meaghann Muncy, 9, of Dillsboro, Indiana has a rare brain abnormality called Hemimegalencephaly (HME). She has multiple life-threatening seizures daily that traditional treatments can't control. Meg's last hope of relief is a surgery removing the right half of her brain. Johns Hopkins has two surgeons who specialize in Hemispherectomy but Hopkins will not accept the family's insurance. The expected cost of her surgery is $150,000 and must be paid in full before Meg can have surgery.
pretty weird....

gonna be arby's for dinner this evening...the corporate site, arbys.com, sucks, but one of their franchises has arbysrestaurant.com and they actually have a menu that tells ya what's on each of the sandwiches and such. getting everyone to agree on a place can be difficult sometimes - "does this sandwich have such and such on it" blah blah blah...
these danged fast food restaurants need to learn the difference between a menu and a nutrition guide - when i click menu i don't wanna know that the sandwich i'm thinking of has 2849 calories, i just wanna know if there's mayo on it.

urgh, can't sleep. shoulda gotten that Rx filled from the neuro doc, but i'm waiting for a coupon in the mail from the drug company so that it's free. yup, need to be pinching those pennies. mom's helped me go through all the medical bills from this year - now that I'm on the Crappy Insurance Plan with deductibles and copayments and shit, i need someone to explain this stuff to me - never had to deal with it before. i've had 3 trips to the hospital this year - the first for my seizure when i was at home and the ambulance came and got me, the second when i was having the chest pains and they diagnosed gastric reflux, and the third one being the biggie where i spent several days as an inpatient getting a video eeg done. so we pore through the mound of bills and certifications and benefit notices and find that my portion - what i have to pay now - comes to $1800. ouch. i'm really pissed. at a couple of people - the h.r. person from work that should've worked her ass off to find us new insurance that wouldn't fuck us over like this one. and i'm pissed at the neuro doc and the people at community hospital that postponed my video eeg a few times - had we done it when it was originally scheduled LAST YEAR, i would pay NOTHING for it. now i'm looking at eighteen hundred bucks worth of bills. argh. another thing that pisses me off - i've got the medical savings account thing through work, but how in the hell do they expect us to estimate our medical expenses for a WHOLE YEAR? i think 6 months would be much more reasonable. as it is this year, i have them take $50 out of every paycheck - $1300 for the year. well, i've more than covered that in the first quarter! well, thank god there's that $2000 maximum on my policy - once i hit two grand, they'll pay 100% - i figure maybe i should ask the docs for any tests that may want next year and go ahead and get 'em done THIS year. hrm, is 29 too early for a mammogram? might as well get my $$$'s worth, eh?
alrighty, i'll quit whining for a millisecond and talk happy news - i went to a vounteer meeting for IYG on wednesday, and it looks like i'll be hooking up with them again. i'm really looking forward to it. i have to keep in mind that this isn't the same IYG that i volunteered for 8 years ago, that there are a lot of changes and I can't expect everything to be sunshine and roses, but it still should be a good experience.

urgh, what a crappy day...tho a crappy weekend day still beats a crappy day at work. just seems that NOTHING's worked out today. took clara's xmas pkg (it's finally all packed up!) to the post office to find they'd already closed. tried going to paige's soccer game but had problems there and didn't make it. then i make the saturday afternoon mah jongg call and find that dale and greg are both out of town and won't be here tonight. urgh! and aunt flo's made a surprise return visit, and that's just made everything oooh so much more wonderful.
grr.

ben & jerry's has new flavors out - i tried the Karamel Sutra, from their Core Concoctions line....the description: "A core of soft caramel encircled by chocolate & caramel ice creams & fudge chips." - errr, guess i won't be checking my blood sugar any time soon....but DAMN it was gooooooood. Karamel Sutra is a very appropriate name.

so, i overslept and didn't go to the pitch-in, oh well...*shrug* probably missed out on the woman of my dreams, i'm sure. looks like i might get some Dale Bondage tonight tho - he called and said he wants to go out, so if the stars all align perfectly and we both remain in the mood, we'll be hitting the town in a little while...
paige called tonight - she's such a little bundle of energy! i can barely get a word in edgewise when i talk to her, but that's okay. she's got a soccer game on the 20th at 2:30, so i think i'll be going to that....
the visit to the neuro was good - pretty much told me what i already know. there was seizure activity going on in my brain while i was in the hospital, in the left temporal lobe (as was diagnosed years ago) and the doc said my brain was "a bit slow" at times - go ahead, write your own joke there....
we're going to look into the possibility that my periods are having an effect on my seizures - hrm, the only reason i HAVE periods is cuz i take the Pill to regulate the damn thing. so, would i be better off not taking the Pill? i'm gonna track it for the next 3 months and then see the Dr. again - we'll see what happens. he also told me i need to be working on days and with a more consistent schedule. big surprise there...

yesterday was a good day off - beautiful weather, so i got some chores done. had a real nice visit at Crown Hill Cemetery - found chuck's grave, visited chris & jeff's, and my grandparent's and aunt's graves too. did quite a bit of walking, even decided to walk up to riley's tomb - quite a different experience than just driving up to it, man that hill's steep!! it was all good though. it's so peaceful there, i really like it.
while i was cleaning out my car at the car wash, i got approached by a guy - he was supposedly asking for directions, but he asked for more than that. don't know what possessed me, but i gave him my phone # when he asked for it. guess when/if he calls i'll have to explain that whole lesbian thing to him. *shrug*
going to see dr. mohan at 8:30 this morning, to get the results of my video eeg. hope there's some useful info there.
lots of stuff going on at work, i'll hafta post more about that later...
pitch-in tonight...i'm not really in the mood for it, but i suppose i should go....haven't heard from whatsherface since the last one - guess it's true about the getting a girlfriend and then dropping off the face of the planet thing....so much for those emails where she told me she really liked having me as a friend...er, friends generally check on ya when you send them an email that says you're going into the hospital to have your brain looked at...*shrug*
