well, i finally managed to get a track from kazaa i've been hunting down for a while now...it's the 10,000 maniacs version of the r.e.m. song "(don't go back to) rockville" - it was a bonus track on the cd single for "candy everybody wants", and it's one of those rare instances that the remake is as good as (if not better than) the original...i can't seem to locate my copy of the cd, it's out of print, and i've had the damned song in my head for a couple of weeks now...guess it's time to burn a new cd - but what else to put on the disc?

got a new car - well, i'm on my way to getting a new car....'tis a 97 saturn, found it at eastgate chrysler. just have to meet up with the credit union to do all the paperwork and go to the dealership - whoo hoo! also need to figure out what to do about the old car - pretty sure i'm gonna just donate it for the tax write-off...

meanwhile, i've totally fucked up my sleep schedule - don't think i'll be going in to work tonight. i'm sure kim's calling me everything but a white girl...oh well, shit happens, and if i have the personal time, i'm gonna take it...

hmm, a few charities taking car donations: the julian center, the american lung association, prevent blindness indiana, and volunteers of america - haven't found any specifically queer organizations, but i might do some asking around...

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

ya know, it's all my fucking fault - i cursed myself. i just HAD to be a smart ass...when i paid off my car, i said that NOW would be the time for it to fall apart. and wouldn't ya know it, i blew up the fucking engine tonight on my drive home from work! argh! so, i'm getting onto 465 from 69 and i hear a loud noise and feel a shaking...then a big *POP!* and it sounds like something falls off of the car. i see smoke coming out from under the hood. when i pull over, i pop the hood and see FLAMES - yup, my car's on fire! so i get a can of root beer out of my car, the only liquid i had, and put the flames out. a guy pulled over to see if he could help - turns out he's a mechanic at Hare Chevrolet - and he tells me i've blown a rod. i know i was due for an oil change, i was gonna get that done this weekend - guess i don't have to worry about that now - arrrrrgh! paid the fucker off april 11, the thing blows up less than a month later! the aaa guy doesn't think it was a blown rod though, he said it's unlikely that it'd catch fire in that instance, but who the fuck knows...both the guys sounded like they knew what they were talking about. *shrug*

so now, what do i do?

don't think i wanna drop one or two grand in it with a new engine - but i could probably get a couple grand out of it for a trade-in. kelley blue book says that the private party value of it in fair condition is $2,150 - says that the Trade-In value is $1,090 - with all the "push...pull...drag it in" for $2,000 trade ins i see in the wheels & deals and such, i think that's a definite thing to consider.

another thought is donating it to charity and writing it off on my taxes - would that be a better idea? *shrug* fuck if i know...

argh, how fucking annoying! *whine complain piss moan grumble*

woohoo! got my camera today at compusa! the thing's so little, i'm just amazed! haven't checked out the pix with it yet, but i'll get around to it eventually...

went and saw Life or Something Like It with donna today - 'twas an okay movie. not as horrible as roger ebert's review, but i can understand his disappointment. and angelina should've definitely done a nude scene or twelve in this movie, but she didn't. *whimper*

okay, enough of this work crap, i'm goin home!! *8-)

well, it's now supposedly "national digital imaging week"...i've got stuff to list on ebay, but no digital camera to get pix...i want this digital camera from kodak....this puppy's three hundred bucks though, and it's not like i've got lots of cash sitting around....but argh, i want it!!!

part of me says forget about it and get the one at walgreens this week that's selling for twenty bucks, but i want the pricey one, dangit!
