woah, been making a few trips down memory lane this weekend...

first off, we see it announced that the movie e.t. will be re-released in theatres in march for it's 20th anniversary. twenty years ago!! i have very vivid memories of going to see that movie - i had been sick in the morning and didn't go to school, but by afternoon i was feeling better and so mom took me to see the movie at the general cinema at glendale mall, and she bought me reese's pieces for the movie as well. very happy childhood memory, playing hooky with mom and seeing such a cool movie. so now i'm encouraging mom to play hooky on the friday that it opens up so we can go see it again, twenty years later...

another childhood movie memory came to me as i was reading the tv guide - urban cowboy was on one of the cable channels today . i went and saw that one with my "dad" at the theater when it came out as well...i really didn't want to go see it (er, what 7 or 8 year old would?!?!?) but dad picked the movie and we went to see it...it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, but it certainly wasn't one i would've picked....

then tonight i'm reading on fark that Schoolhouse Rock is coming to dvd in august! way cool! conjunction junction, what's your function?

so that led to other memories of saturday morning tv in the 70's and early 80's...Timer, the yellow blob that encouraged us to make popsicles with toothpicks and ice cube trays...the one that sang about the joys of cheese -

ya know, it's REALLY weird to look at my blog stats and see what's bringing people to my blog...lots of google searches for weird things...i mentioned dialysis and gary coleman in the same post at some point, and someone was looking for that...i get tons of hits from people looking for that damned cliche kitty, and quite a few from people looking for stuff by heywood banks...so, welcome to anyone that's just happened upon my blog - i'm the pillsbury dough dyke!

so, i'm looking around on amazon.com and see that they want me to sell some of the stuff i've bought from them! books, videos, cd's dvd's...8 items i've bought are still in their stock and so they want to offer up my used stuff to their customers...

the page says "Lori Beth, Make $155.28! Look! Selling your past purchases could earn you $155.28" - so i add up the value of the stuff using the current prices on amazon (i know they've lowered the prices on some of this stuff since i bought it) and it totals up to $221.83.

er, thanks but no thanks, amazon...i suppose that could be cool if ya buy something that really sucks, but i tend to know what i'm buying before i buy it online...

freaking: so, i went in to work tonight cuz we had a bunch of people call in this week (the distinct disadvantage to getting a flu shot is that when everyone else is sick, you aren't and get to do all the freakin' work) and we were sooooo behind, blah blah blah...so it feels like a wednesday night, but it's really thursday night (er, technically friday morning, i guess)...the good part to this is that i'll be getting sunday night off work...next week's a 3 day work week!! *8-) still confused as all hell though....just point me in the right direction, thanks...

a day of ups and downs...good stuff goin on, but i have a BITCH of a headache...

started off by getting a nice little pat on the back from my boss this morning, when she saw the amazing amount of ass i kicked workwise overnight...it's nice to be appreciated every once in a while...

then i went home and slept and woke up to a couple of messages - the neurologist FINALLY seems to have seen my side of things and they're gonna schedule my eeg at st v's, and i don't think i'll even have to switch doctors...lemme just cross my fingers that they don't schedule it during a week someone else's already claimed for vacation...

then there was a message from doc english's office, i'd called her to get the results of my dilantin level, done a couple of weeks ago...talked to elke, the nurse, and she said the level's a little low ~ 8.3 when it should be 10 to 20 ~ and the doc's upping my dosage of dilantin...

check my email and find a "big honkin *SMOOCH*" from Shavon - i'd given her a few tips on how to sell stuff on ebay and they seem to have worked! like i said, it's nice to be appreciated every once in a while...*8-)

my tax refund was deposited in the bank today - whoo hoo! not too bad, i called telefile late saturday night, feb 16, and the money was in my account by wednesday, feb 27...now i can commence paying bills...whoo hoooo!

okay, enough fun at work, time to get outta here!!!
